Uzbekistan Wins Four Medals at IOI 2026 in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Uzbekistan national team won four medals at the 38th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2026), held in Tashkent.

For the first time in the national team's history, all four participants became medalists, winning one silver and three bronze medals.

Jokhanali Khaydaraliev, a 9th-grade student at the Muhammad al-Khwarizmi school, received a silver medal.

The bronze medalists were Timur Kadyrbergenov, an 11th-grade student at the Presidential School in Nukus, Ulugbek Rakhmatullaev, an 11th-grade student at the Presidential School in Namangan, and Jakhongirshokh Avazkhonov, a 10th-grade student at the same school.

In addition, Sardorbek Salimov, a student at the Presidential School in Navoi, received an Honorable Mention award.

The historic result was the outcome of years of preparation by the students and their mentors, as well as digital education reforms conducted in the country to support talented youth.

The performance of the Uzbek students at the international olympiad in Tashkent became one of the most significant results for the national informatics team and established a foundation for the further participation of the country's young programmers in international competitions.
