Uzbekistan, Norway Discuss Cooperation on Afghanistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev held talks with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Norway to Uzbekistan, Helen Sand Andresen.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state of bilateral engagement on Afghanistan-related issues and confirmed their mutual interest in maintaining regular dialogue on the situation in the country.

The Norwegian ambassador highly praised Uzbekistan’s efforts aimed at shaping a consolidated regional approach toward Afghanistan.

The parties also exchanged views on the restoration of Afghanistan’s national economy and prospects for its integration into regional connectivity processes.
