Driver Rams Traffic Police Car While Trying to Escape in Kashkadarya
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Traffic police officers in Kashkadarya Region’s Chirakchi District detained a Nexia-2 driver who attempted to flee after being ordered to stop and rammed a police vehicle, the Kashkadarya Regional Department of Internal Affairs said.
The incident occurred during a night patrol. Traffic police officers ordered the Nexia-2 driver to stop, but he failed to comply and continued driving.
At the next intersection, another traffic police officer also signaled the driver to stop, but the man again ignored the order and attempted to escape.
The patrol officers then blocked the road with their service vehicle. The Nexia-2 collided with the traffic police car and continued driving.
Traffic police officers later stopped and detained the man.
In a video released by the Department of Internal Affairs, the detained driver said he did not have his documents with him, became frightened and continued driving in the oncoming lane. He also admitted that he had collided with the traffic police vehicle and fled the scene.
“I regret what I did. It will not happen again. The law is above everything, and punishment is inevitable,” the man said.
He also urged other drivers not to commit similar acts.
