Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Archaeologists have uncovered the remains of walls dating from the 3rd century BC to the 10th century AD at the ancient Kubbo archaeological site, the press service of the Ferghana regional administration said.

The excavations were carried out by researchers from Ferghana State University in cooperation with the Luoyang Institute of Archaeology of China.

According to Ferghana State University, the research is being conducted as part of a joint project at the Ferghana-Shanxi Center for Archaeological Research established at the university.

The university said the archaeological remains span a long historical period, from the 3rd century BC to the 10th century AD.

Ferghana State University said the discovery is unique material evidence of cultural exchange between East and West along the history of the Great Silk Road.
