Uzbekistan Launches SAGE for Green Creative Economy Growth

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 15 April, the SAGE program was officially launched at the U-ENTER Innovation Center in Tashkent, aiming to support and develop entrepreneurship in the creative and green economy sectors.

The initiative is being implemented with the support of Virtual Accelerate and the Government of Switzerland, in partnership with the Agency for the Development of Light Industry under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The program is designed to support 120 companies operating in creative industries, including textile production, design, carpet weaving and handicrafts, as well as in the green economy segment.

Its key objective is to stimulate sustainable business growth, promote environmentally oriented solutions, and encourage innovative approaches across both traditional and modern industries.

According to the organizers, participants will receive comprehensive support, including incubation and acceleration programs, educational modules, mentoring, and opportunities to access new markets. Special emphasis will be placed on building professional skills, improving competitiveness, and strengthening the position of entrepreneurs at both national and international levels.

Top-performing participants will also be offered additional opportunities, including internships abroad in countries such as Germany and Finland, as well as participation in international industry exhibitions, forums, and business events.

A dedicated focus of the program is the expansion of economic opportunities for women and the development of female entrepreneurship across the regions of the country.

The initiative includes measures to ensure equal access to resources, knowledge, and business development tools, while also supporting leadership initiatives and creating a favorable environment for launching and scaling enterprises.

The launch of the SAGE program is expected to mark a significant step in building a sustainable ecosystem for creative entrepreneurship and the green economy in Uzbekistan, opening new prospects for inclusive economic growth.
