Logistics Center to Be Built in Namangan with Chinese Firm

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A modern logistics center is planned to be established in the Chust district of the Namangan region with the participation of the Chinese company Qingdao Wanlin Group.

To implement the project, the investor was offered a 3-hectare plot of land within the Namangan Free Economic Zone, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan reported.

On 12 August, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture met with Li Yantao, General Director of Qingdao Wanlin Group, and visited the Chust district.

The offered plot has the necessary infrastructure, including a railway network. According to the project initiators, the logistics center will unite several processes related to agro-industrial production, including the storage and sorting of agricultural products, laboratory analysis, and the preparation of goods for supply to domestic and foreign markets.

During the visit, the Chinese investor was also shown vacant land plots in the district's reserve, which could be used to expand agricultural production.

Uzbek officials briefed the company on the region's agricultural potential, existing infrastructure, as well as the incentives and preferences granted to foreign investors.

Li Yantao stated that the company will review the information provided, after which it will develop a feasibility study for the project and prepare initial design and cost estimation documentation to begin implementation.

The project is expected to contribute to the development of the agricultural value chain in the Namangan region, expand capacity for storing and preparing products for export, and create modern laboratory infrastructure.
