Uzbekistan and DowGene Discuss Cooperation in Biotechnology
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and South Korean company DowGene Co., Ltd. have discussed prospects for cooperation in biotechnology and molecular diagnostics, according to the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry.
The meeting took place during a working visit to South Korea by an Uzbek delegation led by the agency's director, Abdulla Azizov.
The sides considered issues related to genetic and molecular diagnostics, DNA analysis, localized production of innovative diagnostic products, and technology transfer. The potential implementation of joint research and development projects was also discussed.
Special attention was given to introducing modern diagnostic technologies in Uzbekistan, expanding scientific and practical cooperation in biotechnology, and applying innovative solutions in medical practice.
Representatives of DowGene were briefed on the modern manufacturing and research infrastructure being established at BioPharma City. Specifically, the delegation outlined opportunities for foreign companies, including the creation of research and development centers, the production of innovative products, and the execution of technology transfer projects.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue dialogue on developing practical cooperation in biotechnology and molecular diagnostics, designing joint projects, and implementing prospective initiatives.
