Uzbekistan Exports 23,300 Tonnes of Sweet Cherries

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan ranked sixth globally in sweet cherry exports in 2024, shipping 32,200 tonnes of fresh sweet cherries abroad, according to data from the UN Comtrade international trade database.

In January–June 2026, Uzbekistan exported 23,300 tonnes of sweet cherries worth US$57.9 million to 11 foreign countries, according to the National Committee on Statistics.

In 2024, the value of fresh sweet cherry exports from Uzbekistan reached US$70.4 million, placing the country among the world's largest suppliers of the fruit by volume.

Chile led global sweet cherry exports in 2024, delivering 529,500 tonnes abroad. Hong Kong ranked second with 168,400 tonnes, followed by the United States in third place with 84,200 tonnes.

The top 10 global exporters also included Türkiye with 66,500 tonnes, Spain with 34,100 tonnes, Greece with 28,000 tonnes, Azerbaijan with 25,800 tonnes, Austria with 18,100 tonnes, and Moldova with 10,100 tonnes.

Sweet cherry export volumes from Uzbekistan have fluctuated significantly over the years. Shipments totaled 29,200 tonnes in 2016, 30,600 tonnes in 2017, and 33,800 tonnes in 2018, before falling to 16,800 tonnes in 2019.

Exports rebounded to 31,300 tonnes in 2020 and reached 60,800 tonnes in 2021. The volume stood at 25,400 tonnes in 2022, 45,000 tonnes in 2023, 32,200 tonnes in 2024, and 31,700 tonnes in 2025.
