Uzbekistan Highlights Investment Potential at Turkish Economic Summit
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan took part in the "Western Black Sea" International Economic Summit, organized by the ULUSKON association and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Turkish province of Kastamonu (KATSO), Dunyo Information Agency reported.
During the summit, the Uzbek delegation presented the country's trade, economic, and investment potential, detailing ongoing economic reforms, conditions created for foreign investors, and opportunities for joint projects in promising economic sectors.
At a meeting with the leadership of the Kastamonu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the parties discussed expanding industrial cooperation in the production of furniture, doors, and wood products, organizing joint manufacturing of semi-finished goods, and strengthening direct links between Uzbek and Turkish enterprises. As part of the talks, contacts were established with Turkish companies Gülcan Mobilya, Dortek, and Zintaş.
During the visit, embassy representatives also toured the manufacturing facility of Miskos. The Turkish side expressed interest in entering the Uzbek market, promoting its products through the country's major retail chains, and establishing direct cooperation with local partners. Additionally, the parties discussed organizing B2B meetings involving Uzbek trading companies on the sidelines of the F-Istanbul international food exhibition.
Special attention was paid to developing interregional cooperation during a meeting with Kastamonu Governor Hasan Baltacı. The sides reviewed prospects for interaction in industrial cooperation—primarily in manufacturing furniture, doors, and wood items—as well as in education, along with mining, health, and sports tourism.
Following the negotiations, an agreement was reached to facilitate reciprocal business delegation visits, expand direct contacts between entrepreneurs, foster student exchange programs, and explore establishing a partnership between Kastamonu Province and a region in Uzbekistan with matching economic potential.
