Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan's Health Minister Eldor Adilov met with Iran's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan, Mohammadali Iskandari, to discuss prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in healthcare.
During the meeting, the two sides noted that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran has developed steadily in recent years, supported by agreements reached by the leadership of the two countries. They said closer engagement between the countries' health ministries, specialized medical centers and higher medical education institutions has contributed to this progress.
Particular attention was given to strengthening partnerships between leading medical institutions. The discussions covered opportunities to implement joint programs in cardiac surgery, transplantation, oncology and the provision of high-tech medical care.
The participants also discussed prospects for joint investment projects in the production of pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
At the conclusion of the talks, both sides expressed confidence that healthcare cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran would reach a new level in the near future.
