Uzbekistan and Pakistan Discuss Expanding Business Ties

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan's Ambassador to Pakistan, Alisher Tukhtaev, met with Haroon Akhtar Khan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan and Federal Minister for Industries and Production, to discuss the development of trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.

One of the main topics of the talks was preparations for a visit by a delegation of Uzbek business representatives to Pakistan and the organisation of the Uzbekistan–Pakistan Business Forum as part of the visit. The participants said the event would help establish direct contacts between the business communities of the two countries, expand trade ties and create a foundation for new investment projects.

The sides also discussed preparations for bilateral documents, the implementation of prospective joint projects and the removal of existing obstacles to economic cooperation.

Haroon Akhtar Khan welcomed the initiatives proposed by the Uzbek side and confirmed Pakistan's readiness to provide the necessary support in preparing the upcoming business delegation's visit.

The discussions also focused on finalising an action plan for trade, economic and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan for 2026–2030. The document is expected to define priority areas of cooperation and contribute to increasing bilateral trade.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to strengthen economic diplomacy, expand exchanges of business delegations and reinforce the strategic partnership between the two countries.
