Uzbekistan, India hold political consultations in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Ninth round of political consultations between Foreign Affairs Ministries of Uzbekistan and India at the level of deputy foreign ministers was held in Tashkent on 18 March 2009.

The sides exchanged opinion on current affairs and perspectives of bilateral cooperation in political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian sphere, the press-service of the Uzbek Foreign Affairs Ministry said.

The sides paid special attention to development of relations in fuel-energy spheres, trade-investment cooperation, as well as holding inter-governmental commission.

The officials also discussed issues of international character of mutual interest, cooperation in rehabilitation of Afghanistan, perspectives of interaction with the SCO, and fighting international terrorism.
