Bakhtiyor Saidov, Croatian PM discuss elevating relations
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov met with the Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrej Plenkovic, during his official visit to the country.
At the beginning of the official talks, the head of the Uzbek delegation conveyed sincere greetings, deep respect, and best wishes on behalf of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, emphasizing the high importance of strengthening interstate dialogue.
The main topic of the negotiations in Zagreb was a comprehensive analysis of existing ties and a discussion of practical steps to bring Uzbek-Croatian relations to a qualitatively new, higher level of long-term partnership. The sides placed special emphasis on the need to intensify bilateral political dialogue.
In the economic sphere, the key priorities identified were the substantial expansion of trade and economic indicators, the stimulation of investment cooperation, and the joint development of promising projects in transit, transport, and international logistics.
In addition to expanding trade and investment ties, Bakhtiyor Saidov and Andrej Plenkovic exchanged detailed views on the most pressing issues on the current regional agenda affecting the interests of both sides. The diplomat and the head of government also reviewed strategic prospects and the coordination of joint efforts within key international organizations and multilateral institutions.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Uzbek side expressed deep gratitude to the leadership of Croatia for its firm commitment to the comprehensive development of friendly and mutually beneficial ties with Uzbekistan.
