Shavkat Mirziyoyev awards order to Azerbaijani ambassador

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 22 June 2026, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Huseyn Guliyev, who is officially completing his diplomatic mission in the country. During the meeting, the head of state expressed his gratitude to the diplomat for his many years of fruitful work.

The President of Uzbekistan highlighted the Azerbaijani diplomat's personal contribution and active efforts toward the progressive development, deepening, and qualitative strengthening of the centuries-old ties of strategic partnership and alliance between Tashkent and Baku. An intensive, trusting dialogue is currently maintained between the states at both the highest level and on interagency platforms.

Significant progress has been recorded in trade, economic, and investment areas. Over the past few years, mutual trade indicators have multiplied, 280 joint ventures involving Azerbaijani capital have been launched in the Uzbek market, and a Joint Investment Company has been established.

Large-scale cooperation projects are in the active phase of implementation in the textile, pharmaceutical, and agricultural sectors, as well as in transport, geology, and urban planning. In parallel, bilateral cultural and humanitarian exchange programs are developing dynamically.

At the end of the official reception, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev presented Huseyn Guliyev with a high state award of Uzbekistan, the Mehnat Shuhrati order, in recognition of his outstanding services and major contribution to expanding multifaceted Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations.

In turn, the Azerbaijani ambassador expressed his deep gratitude to the president for the high assessment of his diplomatic work and the full personal support provided in strengthening full-scale interstate cooperation.
