Uzmetkombinat, CSCES Discuss 150 MW Power Plant Project
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — JSC Uzmetkombinat and Chinese company CSCES International have discussed projects to strengthen the enterprise's energy infrastructure, including the construction of a 150 MW thermal power plant and the implementation of a BESS energy storage system. The negotiations took place on 12 August 2026 in Beijing, according to JSC Uzmetkombinat.
The delegation of the Uzbek enterprise was led by Chairman of the Board Bakhodir Abdullayev. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to China Farkhod Arziyev also attended the meeting.
The central topic of the talks was a project to build a modern 150 MW thermal power plant on the premises of Uzmetkombinat. The Chinese side presented proposals for the implementation of the project.
In addition, CSCES International submitted proposals for the supply, installation, and commissioning of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) for the enterprise's needs.
The parties discussed the technical and economic parameters of the projects, the application of modern technologies, improving energy efficiency, and prospects for long-term investment cooperation.
The BESS system is designed to store electricity, supply it to the grid, and manage the enterprise's energy loads. The construction of the thermal power plant is intended to provide Uzmetkombinat's production facilities with a stable power supply.
CSCES International operates in industrial and energy infrastructure, the execution of engineering projects, and the implementation of energy solutions.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to study the submitted proposals, align on technical and economic parameters, and continue negotiations on implementing the energy projects.
