Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Japan's Onodera Group plans to help train Uzbek citizens for employment in Japan, including professional drivers, under a proposed cooperation programme discussed with Tashkent Region Governor Zoyir Mirzaev.
During the meeting, the parties discussed vocational training for Uzbek citizens before their departure to Japan, as well as arrangements for their subsequent employment. Particular attention was given to driver training and the development of specialised infrastructure.
Under the proposed programme, candidates will undergo professional training before travelling to Japan for work. During the training period, the company intends to provide them with free accommodation and meals, handle visa arrangements, assist with employment and help resolve housing issues after their arrival in Japan.
The cooperation plans also include a visit to Tashkent Region by representatives of 17 Japanese companies, who are expected to discuss employment opportunities for Uzbek citizens.
One of the main topics of the negotiations was the proposed construction of a specialised driving circuit in the region. The facility is intended to be adapted to Japanese traffic regulations, including differences in road signs and vehicle operating requirements.
Representatives of Onodera Group offered to support the implementation of the project.
The parties also discussed the possibility of establishing a college at the driving circuit to train professional drivers.
Another initiative предусматривает sending bus drivers from Tashkent Region to Japan for three-month professional development courses. After completing the training and studying Japanese traffic regulations, participants are expected to share their knowledge in Uzbekistan.
In particular, they could teach at local educational institutions and train new drivers in accordance with requirements applied in Japan.
According to the plans presented at the meeting, the proposed educational centre will be able to train up to 200 people annually.
The discussions also covered vocational training in other specialities, professional skills development and assistance with employment in international labour markets.
