Uzmetkombinat and China's MCC CERI Sign Strategic Agreement

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — JSC Uzmetkombinat and China-based MCC CERI signed a memorandum of strategic cooperation aimed at advancing major metallurgical projects, strengthening the raw material base, and implementing modern engineering solutions.

The document was signed on 9 August 2026 in Beijing following negotiations between a delegation from Uzmetkombinat and the management of MCC CERI, according to JSC Uzmetkombinat.

The Uzbek enterprise's delegation was headed by Chairman of the Board Bakhodir Abdullayev. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to China Farkhod Arziyev also attended the meeting.

The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in developing the Tebinbulak iron ore deposit, constructing a modern blast furnace metallurgical complex, and developing the Temirkan deposit.

Special attention was given to pre-project engineering work, geological surveys, the introduction of advanced technologies, and the creation of production infrastructure.

The signed memorandum provides for a transition to the practical implementation of major projects designed to expand Uzmetkombinat's production capacity, reinforce its raw material base, and implement modern engineering solutions.

MCC CERI is a subsidiary of Metallurgical Corporation of China, specializing in engineering solutions for metallurgy, mining, and heavy industry. According to Uzmetkombinat, the company has nearly 70 years of experience and participates in developing comprehensive engineering solutions and designing major industrial facilities.

During the talks, the parties also discussed the further development of industrial and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and China.
