Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A total of 204 head of breeding cattle have been delivered from Russia to Rishtan district in Uzbekistan’s Ferghana region.
The import of the animals is aimed at developing livestock production, improving breeding practices and increasing the number of highly productive cattle, Uzbekistan’s Food Safety Committee said.
Specialists from the Ferghana Regional Department of Food Safety inspected the conditions in which the animals were being kept.
They examined veterinary documents, the identification of the imported cattle and their overall health, as well as assessed their housing and care conditions.
The imported animals include Angus, Hereford and other highly productive breeds. According to the committee, their import is expected to help increase livestock numbers, strengthen breeding potential and improve productivity.
Following the inspection, specialists provided the farm with recommendations on keeping the animals in line with established veterinary and sanitary requirements. Particular attention was paid to proper feeding and livestock care.
