Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan discussed prospects for cooperation with Chinese companies in the construction and housing and communal services sectors, focusing on heating system modernization and potential investment projects, according to UzDaily.uz.

A meeting was held at the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services with a delegation from China Railway Prefabricated Xinjiang Construction Development Co., Ltd. and Hengkang Technology Kenya Co., Ltd.

During the talks, the parties reviewed possibilities for expanding cooperation, introducing modern technologies, and implementing prospective projects. Special attention was given to the widespread use of prefabricated and industrial construction solutions, the application of eco-friendly building materials, the production of steel structures, and the execution of comprehensive projects under EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) frameworks.

The sides also examined prospects for implementing construction and municipal infrastructure projects under EPC+F (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Financing) and public-private partnership models. A separate focus was placed on modernizing heating systems in Uzbekistan, including the construction of cogeneration plants and modern thermal centers, as well as the implementation of geothermal heat pump technologies.

Following the discussions, the parties agreed to exchange information regarding prospective heating projects. The Chinese companies will evaluate the proposed projects and prepare proposals regarding potential financing terms and collaboration models. The participants also discussed studying Chinese technical standards and requirements for prefabricated construction, emphasizing the importance of advanced technologies to improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact.

The sides agreed to continue negotiations at a w
