Uzbekistan’s Meat Imports Rise 34.3% to US$678.4 Million

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan imported US$678.4 million worth of meat products in January-August 2026, up 34.3% from US$505.2 million in the same period last year, according to the Customs Committee of Uzbekistan.

Beef accounted for the largest share of imports. Its import value increased 30.0%, from US$399.2 million to US$519.1 million, while the physical volume rose 13.4%, from 98.0 thousand tons to 111.1 thousand tons.

Chicken imports increased 24.1% in value terms, from US$44.1 million to US$54.7 million, while the volume rose 20.6%, from 37.7 thousand tons to 45.5 thousand tons.

Lamb imports recorded a larger increase, rising 77.3% in value terms, from US$27.0 million to US$47.9 million. The physical volume increased 29.6%, from 16.9 thousand tons to 21.9 thousand tons.

Imports of meat by-products increased 14.3% in value terms, from US$19.5 million to US$22.3 million, while the volume rose 12.5%, from 20.4 thousand tons to 23.0 thousand tons.

Imports of canned meat products increased 27.2%, from US$9.3 million to US$11.9 million. Their volume rose 9.3%, from 2.7 thousand tons to 3.0 thousand tons.

The sharpest relative increase was recorded in duck meat imports. Their value rose nearly 54-fold, from US$0.17 million to US$9.3 million, while the physical volume increased nearly 74-fold, from 77.0 tons to 5,684.6 tons.

Turkey meat imports increased 9.2-fold in value terms, from US$0.7 million to US$6.8 million, while the volume rose 5.5-fold, from 460.9 tons to 2,534.8 tons.

Imports of sausages increased 27.0% in value terms, from US$3.8 million to US$4.8 million, while the volume rose 17.9%, from 1.5 thousand tons to 1.8 thousand tons.

Pork imports increased 65.5%, from US$0.67 million to US$1.11 million, while the physical volume rose 84.6%, from 200.4 tons to 370.0 tons.

Horse meat imports remained virtually unchanged in value terms at US$0.77 million, compared with US$0.77 million a year earlier. However, the physical volume declined 20.1%, from 235.9 tons to 188.5 tons.

Imports of smoked and salted meat products increased in value from US$0.5 thousand to US$1.6 thousand, while the volume rose from 50.3 kilograms to 154.5 kilograms.

Imports of goose meat, which were not recorded in the same period last year, amounted to 102.4 kilograms worth US$0.8 thousand in 2026.

No imports of meat from other animals were recorded in either period.
