Uzbekistan Business Ombudsman launches project for entrepreneurs
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Business Ombudsman has launched a new project called “I Have a Question for the Business Ombudsman,” allowing entrepreneurs to submit questions about running a business to qualified specialists.
The experts’ answers will be published on the Business Ombudsman’s official channels.
Questions can be submitted by email to biznesombudsmangasavol@gmail.com. The initiative is intended to provide entrepreneurs with explanations on issues related to their business activities.
The Business Ombudsman institution was established in 2017 as part of reforms aimed at strengthening the legal protection of entrepreneurs, reducing administrative barriers and protecting property rights.
Presidential Decree No. UP-5037 establishing the institution was adopted on 5 May 2017.
The Business Ombudsman is an official appointed and dismissed by the President of Uzbekistan.
Its main task is to ensure guarantees for the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of businesses and monitor compliance with these rights by government, law enforcement and regulatory authorities.
The institution’s powers include reviewing entrepreneurs’ appeals, monitoring the actions of government bodies, participating in court proceedings, reviewing draft regulatory legal acts and preparing proposals to improve legislation.
The Business Ombudsman also participates in developing and implementing state policy on protecting entrepreneurs’ rights, provides legal support during business inspections and assesses the impact of regulatory legal acts on business activities.
The institution’s organizational structure has expanded gradually. In 2017, eight employees worked in the system. By 2019, the number had increased to 101, after which a system of regional offices was introduced. This strengthened efforts to identify and address entrepreneurs’ problems directly in the regions.
The new project provides entrepreneurs with an additional channel for obtaining explanations on issues related to their activities.
Questions will be accepted at the specified email address, while answers prepared by specialists will be published on the Business Ombudsman’s official information resources.
