Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s average population density reached 85.8 people per square kilometer as of 1 July 2026, increasing by 1.5 people per square kilometer over the past year, according to the National Statistics Committee.

Population density in Uzbekistan has increased steadily in recent years. On 1 July 2022, the figure stood at 79.3 people per square kilometer, rising to 81 people in 2023.

The indicator increased further to 82.7 people per square kilometer in 2024 and reached 84.3 people in 2025.

Thus, between 2022 and 2026, Uzbekistan’s average population density increased by 6.5 people per square kilometer, from 79.3 to 85.8 people.

In relative terms, the increase over this period amounted to about 8.2%. Compared with 2025, population density rose by 1.5 people per square kilometer, or about 1.8%.
