Uzbekistan Banks' Assets Exceed 1 Quadrillion Soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Total assets of Uzbekistan's banking system reached 1,005.8 trillion soums as of 1 July 2026, up 18% from the same date a year earlier, according to data from the Central Bank.

The regulator said banks' total loan portfolio increased by 12% year on year to 642.8 trillion soums. Total capital of the banking system rose by 19% to 148.9 trillion soums.

Deposits recorded the strongest growth. Their total volume increased by 118 trillion soums over the year to 473.8 trillion soums, representing annual growth of 33%.

The Central Bank said the performance reflected rising demand from households and businesses for banking credit and deposit products.

At the same time, the regulator reported a further decline in the share of foreign currency across key banking sector indicators.

The share of foreign currency-denominated assets fell from 40% to 35%, while the share of foreign currency loans declined from 42% to 39%. The share of foreign currency deposits decreased from 24% to 19%.
