Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A criminal case is being investigated over the alleged rape of a minor at a state preschool educational institution in Uchkurghan district of Namangan Region, Uzbekistan’s Prosecutor General’s Office reported.
In September 2026, the Investigation Department of the Uchkurghan District Department of Internal Affairs opened a criminal case under Articles 118, “Rape,” and 112, “Threat of murder or use of violence,” of the Criminal Code.
A pretrial detention measure has been imposed on one person in connection with the criminal case.
The case has now been transferred to the Namangan Regional Prosecutor’s Office, where investigative proceedings are under way. The Prosecutor General has personally taken control of the investigation.
The Prosecutor General’s Office said it would ensure a comprehensive, thorough and objective investigation, as well as protection of the rights and legitimate interests of the minor victim.
Legal assessment will be given, in accordance with the law, to every established fact related to possible involvement in the crime, concealment of its circumstances or inaction by responsible officials.
The prosecutor’s office said it would report the results of the investigation in accordance with the procedure established by law.
