Uzbekistan and Malaysia to Expand Tourism Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan, Sanjar Tajiev, held a meeting with a delegation from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia, led by Zulhelmi Zakaria. The parties discussed prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in the fields of tourism, cultural exchange, and the implementation of joint initiatives.
One of the central topics of the negotiations was the organization of the "Malaysia Culture Week 2026" exhibition, which is scheduled to take place within the framework of the Tashkent International Tourism Fair (TITF). The Uzbek side expressed its full readiness to provide the necessary assistance in hosting the event, emphasizing its importance for strengthening cultural ties and boosting mutual tourist flows.
During the meeting, the officials also reviewed the organization of target B2B meetings between representatives of the tourism industries of both nations, conducting familiarization tours (FAM trips), and further developing the specialized "Umrah+" program with the active participation of Malaysian tour operators.
Following the talks, both sides confirmed their mutual interest in steadily expanding cooperation and implementing joint projects aimed at developing robust tourism exchanges between Uzbekistan and Malaysia.
