Uzbekistan and Kuwait Discuss Tourism and Direct Flights
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Kuwait have discussed expanding cooperation in tourism, including the launch of direct flights, the promotion of tourism and the development of new areas of the sector.
The issues were discussed during a meeting between Abdulaziz Akkulov, Chairman of Uzbekistan's Tourism Committee, and Turki Khalid Hamad Al-Mikrad, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Kuwait to Uzbekistan.
During the talks, the parties said the trusting relationship between the leadership of the two countries has created a solid foundation for further cooperation in the political, trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian fields.
Particular attention was given to strengthening cooperation in tourism and promoting Uzbekistan's historical and cultural heritage and modern tourism opportunities in the Kuwaiti market. Among the proposals discussed was the organization of a familiarization press tour to Uzbekistan for prominent Kuwaiti bloggers, media representatives and tour operators.
The parties also discussed the prospects for launching direct flights between the two countries, developing mountain and hunting tourism, and exchanging experience and best practices in these areas.
The Kuwaiti ambassador stressed the importance of creating more convenient conditions for Kuwaiti citizens visiting Uzbekistan.
In particular, he highlighted the need to address difficulties related to the registration of mobile devices belonging to foreign citizens staying in Uzbekistan for more than 30 days and proposed working with the relevant authorities to simplify the procedure.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue joint efforts on launching direct air services with the participation of relevant government agencies and airlines, expanding cooperation in mountain and hunting tourism, and implementing joint initiatives aimed at increasing tourist flows between Uzbekistan and Kuwait.
