Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan plan to strengthen cooperation between their national IT ecosystems and develop joint projects to expand into international markets.
The issue was discussed at a meeting between Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov and Kazakhstan’s Ambassador Yeraly Tugzhanov.
One of the main topics was expanding cooperation between IT Park Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan’s Astana Hub.
The sides noted that the two countries’ technology ecosystems should focus on sharing experience, pooling resources and complementary cooperation rather than competing with each other.
Discussions covered opportunities to create favourable conditions for the joint development of startups and IT companies, access to the Uzbek and Kazakh markets, implementation of joint projects and promotion of technological solutions abroad.
Participants said this approach would expand opportunities not only for the two countries but also for Central Asia as a whole.
Particular attention was given to promoting regional technology companies and startups internationally, attracting foreign investors and technology companies, and developing a common regional IT brand.
Shermatov and Tugzhanov also discussed prospects for cooperation in digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, data centres and innovation projects.
Following the meeting, the sides stressed the need to further strengthen ties between IT Park Uzbekistan and Astana Hub, implement joint initiatives and promote Central Asia as a regional hub for technological cooperation, investment and innovation.
