Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — IT Park Uzbekistan and OITE Global have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at expanding the participation of Uzbek technology companies and startups in COMEX events in Oman, IT Park Uzbekistan said.
A meeting between IT Park Uzbekistan Director General’s Adviser Abdulkhad Kuchkarov and OITE Global and COMEX CEO Amr Abdullah Baabood was held as part of ICT WEEK Uzbekistan 2026.
The sides discussed prospects for cooperation, including the participation of Uzbek IT companies and startups in the COMEX Global Technology Show and opportunities to showcase Uzbekistan’s technological potential on the international stage.
Particular attention was paid to preparations for COMEX 2027, which will be held from 1 to 4 February at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre in Muscat.
The participants considered various formats for IT Park Uzbekistan’s participation, as well as opportunities to hold additional events to promote Uzbek technology projects.
Another area of discussion was cooperation between startups and investors. The sides considered creating a dedicated track within the COMEX ecosystem for startups from Central Asia, including meetings with potential investors, technology companies and international partners.
The memorandum provides for facilitating the official participation of Uzbek startups in COMEX events, developing ties between technology ecosystems and exploring opportunities to hold COMEX events in Uzbekistan.
COMEX brings together government bodies, technology companies, startups, investors and industry experts. The exhibition covers e-government, artificial intelligence, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, financial technologies, Gaming & Esports, robotics, smart cities, space and unmanned technologies, sustainable energy, AgriTech and HealthTech.
According to the organizers, more than 90,000 people visited COMEX in 2025. More than 200 public and private organizations and over 140 technology startups participated in the events. More than 150 agreements worth about 116 million Omani rials were announced during the exhibition.
COMEX 2027 will be the 35th edition of the exhibition. It is organized by OITE Global, which has been holding international exhibitions, conferences and business events in Oman for more than 40 years.
IT Park Uzbekistan’s cooperation with COMEX has a practical foundation.
In September 2025, an IT Park Uzbekistan delegation and residents Detecting AI, BRB Tech and Fleetroot participated in the COMEX Technology Show in Muscat. During the exhibition, they held talks with Omani and international companies and discussed export and technology projects.
The new memorandum provides a basis for further expanding the presence of Uzbek technology companies and startups at COMEX and developing business ties with Oman and the Gulf countries.
