Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — During a working visit to South Korea, Uzbekistan's Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov met Inha University President Ki Yong Choi, the ministry said.
The two sides discussed the further development of Inha University in Tashkent and the expansion of cooperation between its Uzbek and South Korean campuses.
Following the meeting, Inha University in Tashkent and Inha University in South Korea signed a new five-year Royalty Agreement.
The document provides for updating academic programmes, expanding the exchange of students and faculty, and launching joint master's and research programmes.
The two sides gave separate attention to the development of Inha University's Ferghana campus. Joint educational and research projects in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, engineering and space technologies were discussed.
In addition, the two sides examined the development of PhD programmes and research internships, the organisation of a Summer School and measures to enhance the potential of the Ferghana campus.
The ministry noted that the agreements reached are aimed at training modern IT personnel in Uzbekistan, expanding international cooperation in education and scientific research, and increasing Inha University's educational opportunities.
