Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Oybek Tursunov is set to acquire the property complex housing telecommunications operator Perfectum's headquarters in Tashkent, along with 2,012 of the company's fixed assets, in a transaction valued at 98.374 billion soums, including value-added tax (VAT), according to disclosures published on Uzbekistan's Unified Corporate Information Portal.
The transaction was approved by shareholders of Rubicon Wireless Communication, the legal entity that owns Perfectum, at an extraordinary general meeting held on 16 October.
The property is located at 21 Taras Shevchenko Street in Tashkent's Mirabad district. The complex has been valued at 65.968 billion soums.
It comprises four buildings with a combined floor area of 10,479 square metres, situated on a 7,283-square-metre land plot.
In addition to the property, Tursunov will acquire 2,012 fixed assets belonging to the company, valued at 32.406 billion soums.
The transaction comes amid plans by international telecommunications group VEON to acquire Perfectum for US$207 million.
The proposed acquisition was previously announced, and Uzbekistan's Competition Committee subsequently approved the deal.
According to VEON, acquiring Perfectum would increase Beeline Uzbekistan's spectrum holdings by approximately 50%, expand network coverage and accelerate the development of fifth-generation mobile telecommunications infrastructure.
Perfectum's assets include 115 MHz of radio spectrum in the 850 MHz and 3,800 MHz frequency bands, as well as telecommunications infrastructure, including a standalone 5G network built using Nokia equipment.
