Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — First Deputy Minister for Poverty Reduction and Employment of Uzbekistan Marat Juraev held talks with Assistant FAO Representative in Uzbekistan Sherzod Umarov.

The discussions focused on increasing employment opportunities in rural areas, improving the efficient use of household and dekhkan farms, and developing mechanisms to raise household incomes.

Special attention was given to expanding women’s participation in economic activity, including their involvement in entrepreneurship through grant support.

The sides also agreed on a set of initiatives aimed at increasing rural incomes through the further development of household and dekhkan farming across the regions of Uzbekistan.
