Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — On 11 June, a high-level meeting took place between Ahmet Çalık, Chairman of the Turkish conglomerate Çalık Holding, and Jamshid Kuchkarov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Founded in 1981 by Ahmet Çalık, Çalık Holding is a prominent private group operating in 34 countries across five key sectors: energy, construction, mining, textiles, and finance. The company has held a recognized brand presence since 1997.
During the meeting, the parties discussed strategic priorities and potential areas for deepening bilateral cooperation, with a strong emphasis on implementing joint projects through public-private partnership (PPP) mechanisms.
Particular attention was given to improving Uzbekistan’s electricity supply system, ensuring stable and high-quality power delivery to the regions, upgrading existing infrastructure, and increasing private sector participation in the energy market.
The discussions also explored opportunities for launching modern mining and geological exploration projects using advanced technological solutions.
Both sides shared relevant experiences, including Çalık Holding’s successful privatization cases and completed energy sector initiatives.
At the conclusion of the talks, a mutual agreement was reached to strengthen cooperation and continue dialogue aimed at expanding joint efforts in the outlined sectors.
