Uzbek Foreign Ministry Confirms Death in Vladikavkaz

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan has clarified the circumstances surrounding the death of a citizen of the republic in an explosion in Vladikavkaz, according to the Dunyo news agency.

The Consular and Legal Department of the Foreign Ministry reported that the tragic incident occurred on 17 April during the loading of waste containers. The information was confirmed by the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Rostov-on-Don.

As a result of the incident, a 1980-born citizen of Uzbekistan, originally from the Kashkadarya region, died at the scene.

He was employed in municipal services.

The diplomatic mission has taken the situation under special control. Relevant authorities are currently investigating the circumstances of the incident.

The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Rostov-on-Don is taking necessary measures to repatriate the body of the deceased citizen to Uzbekistan.
