Uzbek, Belgian Ombudsmen discuss cooperation issues

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Human Rights Commissioner of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan (Ombudsman) Sayyora Rashidova and director of National Human Rights Center of Uzbekistan Akmal Saidov held negotiations with the Federal Ombudsman of Belgium Guido Schuermans, Jahon news agency under Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reported.

The report said the Sayyora Rashidova and Akmal Saidov are visiting Brussels, Belgium, to participate the seventh session of Committee on parliamentarian cooperation "Uzbekistan-EU".

The sides considered issues of establishing and developing cooperation between Ombudsmen of Uzbekistan and Belgium on issues of mutual interest, the agency reported.

The Federal Ombudsman of Belgium confirmed principle readiness to develop cooperation with the Ombudsman of Uzbekistan.
