Russian Tourist Arrivals to Uzbekistan Rise Over 30%

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Tourist arrivals from Russia to Uzbekistan increased by more than 30% in the first five months of 2026, according to the Committee for Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

A total of 465,885 Russian citizens visited Uzbekistan for tourism purposes between January and May 2026.

This compares with 334,275 visitors in the same period of 2025, marking an increase of more than 30%.

The Russian market was identified as the main driver of overall inbound tourism growth during the reporting period.

In total, Uzbekistan received more than 1.3 million foreign visitors in the first five months of 2026. This represents a 27.3% increase compared to the same period last year, according to official data.

The Committee for Tourism noted that Russian tourist activity was particularly strong during the spring holiday and vacation periods.

During the May holidays alone, 124,043 Russian tourists visited Uzbekistan, compared with 94,216 in May 2025.

This represents an increase of 30,827 visitors, corresponding to roughly 30% year-on-year growth in that segment.
