Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Georgia plan to expand cooperation in tourism and increase mutual tourist flows, following a promotional roadshow held in Tashkent by the Georgian National Tourism Administration (GNTA).
The event, titled Emotions are Georgia, brought together representatives of travel companies, tour operators and the hotel sector to strengthen business ties between the two countries.
The programme included presentations on Georgia's tourism opportunities and business-to-business (B2B) meetings involving representatives of 40 travel companies.
The organisers expect such events to strengthen contacts between tourism industry representatives from Uzbekistan and Georgia, facilitate the exchange of experience and broaden the range of travel options available to tourists from Uzbekistan.
The Tashkent roadshow formed part of the GNTA's international series of events promoting Georgia's tourism potential in foreign markets. Similar meetings were previously held in Stockholm, Copenhagen and Astana.
China is the next destination in the programme, with the Georgian delegation planning to visit another 40 cities there.
