Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Kazakhstan will introduce a mandatory guarantee payment of 20 monthly calculation indices (MCI), or 86,500 tenge, for international freight carriers booking electronic queue slots at three border crossings with Uzbekistan from 9 November 2026.
The new requirements were announced by the State Revenue Department for Kazakhstan’s Turkistan Region. The rules will apply at the Kazygurt, B. Konysbayev and Atameken checkpoints.
To book a slot, carriers must ensure that the required amount is available in a special electronic account.
If a vehicle arrives at the checkpoint at its scheduled time, the full payment will be automatically refunded.
However, if a carrier fails to arrive at the appointed time twice consecutively within a period of 90 calendar days, the guarantee payment will not be refunded. The funds will be transferred to the state budget.
According to the department, the measure is intended to reduce fictitious bookings, prevent the illegal resale of electronic queue slots and stop artificial congestion at the border.
Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transport recommends that domestic carriers take the new rules into account when planning international freight operations, comply with booking conditions and arrive at checkpoints on time.
