Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have agreed to identify the next areas of cooperation to improve the country’s insolvency system.

The issue was discussed at a meeting on 28 October 2026 between N. Muhammadiev, Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Justice and director of the Agency for Insolvency Affairs, and ADB representatives.

The sides reviewed the findings of a diagnostic study of Uzbekistan’s insolvency system, the main challenges identified during the assessment and the measures required for the next stage of work.

Particular attention was given to incorporating the findings and recommendations of international and foreign experts into the drafting and improvement of legislation governing insolvency.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to prepare a joint action plan outlining priority areas for further cooperation with the ADB, specific measures and implementation deadlines.

The plan is expected to help organise further efforts to develop Uzbekistan’s insolvency system in line with international standards and expert recommendations.

The meeting marked another stage in cooperation between Uzbekistan and the ADB to improve the relevant legal framework and develop insolvency regulation mechanisms.
