Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Transport ministers and representatives of international organisations have discussed ways to develop international transport corridors, improve logistics efficiency and introduce digital solutions.
The meeting of delegation heads, titled “Synchronising Actions, Institutionalisation and Digitalisation”, was held as part of the 8th NEW SILK WAY International Business Forum.
Participants included heads of transport authorities, representatives of the diplomatic corps and international organisations.
Key topics included coordinating infrastructure development plans, reducing barriers at national borders and digitalising transport processes.
Uzbekistan’s Transport Minister Ilhom Makhkamov said an efficient transport system could not be developed within the boundaries of a single country alone. He said improving the region’s competitiveness required removing administrative barriers and harmonising procedures for international transport.
“Our common priority is to create truly seamless transit corridors by eliminating bureaucratic obstacles to the movement of goods.
“Only by harmonising customs and transit procedures and integrating logistics chains can we turn our region into a reliable and competitive bridge between global markets,” Makhkamov said.
Following the meeting, participants exchanged views on priorities for cooperation in the transport sector and practical steps to further develop international transport services.
The discussions also focused on aligning approaches and identifying joint solutions to strengthen transport and logistics links between countries.
