Uzbekistan and Germany Launch Migration and Training Projects

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Two major projects in the field of migration and workforce training were launched in Tashkent at the Kuksaroy residence with the participation of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

The initiatives are being implemented by the Migration Agency of Uzbekistan in cooperation with German partners and are aimed at developing vocational training for specialists and expanding opportunities for international certification.

The first project provides for the training of 500 railway sector specialists for Germany in cooperation with Deutsche Bahn. The programme envisages subsequent employment of participants within the German transport system.

The second project involves the establishment of a network of TELC examination centres. It will expand access for citizens of Uzbekistan to international language certification alongside the Goethe system. According to the stated parameters, up to 30,000 people per year will be able to take exams and receive recognised certificates in Uzbekistan.

The launch of the projects is seen as part of expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and Germany in the areas of labour migration, education and skilled workforce development.
