Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan have reached an agreement to supply up to 1.5 billion cubic meters of gas.

On 12 December 2022, the head of the presidential administration of Uzbekistan, Sardor Umurzakov, visited Ashgabat. During the visit, he met with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

During the visit, an agreement was reached on deliveries to Uzbekistan of an additional 20 million cubic meters of gas per day, or about 1.5 billion cubic meters in 3 months. Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan signed a corresponding contract.

These gas supplies from Turkmenistan can solve the gas problem that arose in Uzbekistan in winter.
