Tashkent to Host International Education Forums in December

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Tashkent will host the STEAM AHEAD Global Finals 2026 international olympiad and the Young Achievers Leadership Academy programme in December 2026.

Preparations for the events were discussed by Sanjar Tadjiev, Deputy Chairman of Uzbekistan's Tourism Committee, and Henry Ong, President of the Singapore International Mastery Contests Centre (SIMCC).

According to the Tourism Committee, the international events will run for two weeks and are expected to attract more than 3,000 gifted school students, teachers, international experts, jury members and representatives of official delegations from more than 40 countries.

During the meeting, the parties discussed preparations to ensure the events are organised to a high standard.

The Tourism Committee said holding the intellectual forums in December, traditionally a period of lower seasonal activity in the international tourism market, is expected to help increase the number of foreign visitors, promote business and MICE tourism, and strengthen Uzbekistan's appeal as a tourist destination.

According to the committee, the arrival of participants and accompanying visitors is expected to boost demand for hotels, transport, catering, guided tours and other tourism services, positively affecting economic activity in the tourism sector.

The committee also said the forum would showcase Uzbekistan's potential in intellectual, educational and MICE tourism while strengthening Tashkent's position as an international venue for major events.
