Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Tashkent is scheduled to host the international Golden Globes Silk Road Tribute Gala in October 2026, an event dedicated to developing cooperation in the film and television industries across Central Asia and the Caucasus, the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan said.
Preparations for the event were discussed on 24 September at a meeting between Culture Minister Ozodbek Nazarbekov and representatives of Russian company LETO Production.
The talks were attended by Darya Bogdanova and Viktoria Noviskaya, who are responsible for international affairs and special international projects.
The sides discussed arrangements for organizing and holding the event in Tashkent.
According to the participants, the gala is expected to promote the creative achievements of Central Asian and Caucasus countries in film and television to an international audience and expand professional contacts among industry representatives.
Particular attention was paid to opportunities for implementing joint projects and developing international cooperation in the film industry.
The Ministry of Culture intends to assist in preparing the event. Most organizational work is expected to be handled by the international organizers. The possibility of designating the Cinematography Agency as the institution responsible for organizational matters is also being considered.
The Ministry of Culture said hosting the Golden Globes Silk Road Tribute Gala in Tashkent would provide an opportunity to showcase Uzbekistan’s cultural and cinematic potential to an international audience, promote the country’s tourism opportunities and develop new international partnerships in the film industry.
