Tashkent Region and Bashkortostan to Expand Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Khokim of Tashkent Region Zoir Mirzaev and Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan of the Russian Federation Radiy Khabirov discussed the development of cooperation in trade, economic, investment, industrial, and other priority sectors during an online meeting.

The parties noted the steady development of partnership relations between Tashkent Region and Bashkortostan. Currently, seven investment projects worth a total of US$235.7 million are being implemented in accordance with the decision of the President of Uzbekistan. Their implementation is expected to strengthen the economic potential of both regions, establish new production capacities, and create thousands of jobs.

The development of the Bekabad Technopark was a separate topic of negotiations. The parties discussed measures aimed at accelerating its further development.

During the meeting, the sides also considered issues regarding the creation of joint industrial enterprises, acceleration of investment project implementation, expansion of trade ties, and strengthening of interaction in agriculture, tourism, and sports.

In addition, the participants exchanged views on prospects for launching new joint initiatives and investment projects designed to elevate the partnership between Tashkent Region and Bashkortostan to a qualitatively new level.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to accelerate the implementation of existing projects, ensure the timely execution of planned tasks, and continue expanding practical cooperation between the two regions.
