Subscriber base of mobile operators of Uzbekistan reach 24.3m

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Number of subscribers of mobile communication operator in Uzbekistan currently exceeded 24.3 million people.

Currently, 80% of population of Uzbekistan use service of mobile operators of the country.

The growth was achieved, first of all, due to introduction of new modern technologies, accessibility of services to population, as well as attraction of foreign investments.

According to data, the mobile communication operators of Uzbekistan invested over US$1.607 billion in 2000-2010.

Currently, there are five mobile communication operators in Uzbekistan. Three of them – MTS Uzbekistan, Beeline and UCell – operate in GSM standard and two of them - Perfectum Mobile and Uzmobile in CDMA standard.
