Uzbekistan Presents Space Technologies at UN Session
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan presented its experience in applying space technologies to water resource management at the 69th session of the UN Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS).
The country is implementing modern digital solutions for water management, including the use of satellite data to monitor reservoirs and assess water consumption in agriculture.
The session also confirmed cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UN Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA). As part of this cooperation, an international conference called "Space4Water" is planned to be held in Uzbekistan in 2027.
The conference is expected to serve as an international platform for discussing water security, water resource management amid climate change, and the application of innovative solutions based on space technologies.
