Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Uzbekistan Chess Federation has won the Best Federation category at the FIDE Excellence Awards 2026.
The award recognises the federation’s work to develop chess in Uzbekistan, expand opportunities for players, promote chess among young people and strengthen the country’s position on the international chess scene.
As part of the FIDE Excellence Awards 2026, nine laureates received awards for outstanding achievements in the chess world. The awards in the Best Chess Player and Best Female Chess Player categories will be presented at the closing ceremony of the 46th FIDE Chess Olympiad.
For the Uzbekistan Chess Federation, the award recognises its efforts to develop the country’s chess school and support Uzbek chess players competing in international tournaments.
The 46th FIDE Chess Olympiad is being held in Samarkand in 2026.
