Shavkat Umurzakov becomes a deputy of the Tashkent City Council of People’s Deputies

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) – Shavkat Umurzakov has become a deputy of the Tashkent City Council of People’s Deputies, according to the press service of the Tashkent khokimiyat.

At the 104th session of the council, Shavkat Umurzakov was elected as a deputy from the "Turkiston-53" district in Yunusabad district. He was nominated by the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan.

It should be noted that in April 2024, Shavkat Umurzakov was appointed as the hokim of Tashkent. The Tashkent City Council of People’s Deputies approved his appointment to this position.

Since March 2023, Shavkat Umurzakov had been serving as the acting mayor of Tashkent.
