Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Tashkent will create an open green park and a youth town on the 4.36-hectare site of the former Tashkent City Oncology Center, with existing buildings to be preserved, reconstructed and adapted for public use, the Tashkent city administration's press service said.

The authorities stressed that the creation of the youth town will not reduce the area of the park. Educational and creative centers, a library, coworking spaces, simulation workshops and startup studios will be located in the existing buildings.

No separate business offices or other commercial facilities are planned to be built as part of the project, according to the city administration. The area surrounding the buildings will be landscaped and planted with greenery and will remain an open public space for residents of nearby mahallas, young people and other city residents.

The main part of the site will therefore be occupied by the green park, while the existing buildings will be used for educational, creative and public projects. The Tashkent city administration also published renderings and individual sections of a presentation of the planned space.

The creation of the youth town is предусмотрено by the roadmap for the socio-economic development of Tashkent for 2026–2027, approved by a presidential resolution dated 27 July 2026.

Under the document, the youth town will provide training in modern professions in demand in the labor market, as well as future professions through a dual education system.

State-owned buildings and structures within the youth town are planned to be leased to entrepreneurs operating in industry, construction and services. In return, tenants will be required to undertake training of residents and young people under the dual education system.

The project also provides for high-tech, industrial-engineering and service zones, educational and creative centers, a library, simulation workshops with modern infrastructure, and venues for advanced practices. It also includes a youth park, business offices, an entrepreneurship zone and a startup studio.

A key area of the project will be cooperation with entrepreneurs who organize dual education programs. The model is expected to help provide employment for residents and young people who have completed training at the youth town.

The Tashkent city administration, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Economy and Finance have been designated responsible for implementing the project. The planned measures are to be completed by December 2026.
