Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbek-French University and the France-Uzbekistan Economic Chamber have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at bringing university education closer to the business environment. The document was signed on 6 October 2026 at the residence of the French Ambassador to Uzbekistan, the chamber said.
The memorandum was signed by University Rector Nurmuhammad Yusupov and Chamber Chairman Alisher Khaitmetov. The agreement is valid for three years.
The chamber brings together more than 60 French and Uzbek companies and is part of the CCI France International network, which comprises 121 chambers in 95 countries.
Under the memorandum, the chamber will serve as an intermediary between the university and the business community.
The parties agreed to cooperate in several areas, including internships, dual education and students’ first employment, as well as the participation of specialists from chamber member companies in the educational process.
The chamber will promote the university’s programmes among companies. Students will be able to participate in business meetings, thematic breakfasts and visits to industrial facilities.
In addition, the parties will jointly organize career fairs and career days and use the CCI France International network to establish academic and professional contacts abroad.
“Our companies are looking for engineers and managers, while the university will graduate specialists in precisely these fields every year. What was missing was neither demand nor supply, but a road connecting the two. Today, we are opening that road,” Alisher Khaitmetov said.
The Uzbek-French University trains students in three areas: communications and languages, energy engineering, and transport and logistics management.
